Three Potential Home Remedies for Acne

There are literally thousands of remedies for acne. The reason for the sheer quantity of remedies is due to the fact that there isn’t one remedy that will work for everyone. This is probably because we are all different and the acne on your face is unique when compared to the acne on your friends face. We all want to be unique right? Anyways, below

are three home remedies for acne to add to your arsenal. Keep in mind that healthy living along with a good remedy can make a drastic change for the better in your acne.

Intake foods that have some zinc in them. According to a friend of mine in the health profession, zinc is great for managing acne. He explained to me that zinc helps keep our sebaceous glands under control and it also helps keep bacterial counts low. For those of you who haven’t heard about sebaceous glands you’ll probably want to know that many people attribute acne formation to the excess amount of sebum oil produced by the sebaceous glands. If zinc could help manage this problem, then surely it would help with pimples.

Eat foods that are high in sulfur like garlic and onions. Sometimes I have to laugh when people ridicule home remedies for acne saying that they are not powerful enough. The truth is that many of the most popular over-the-counter acne treatments available have sulfur in them. Don’t believe me? Take a quick trip to the supermarket and look at ingredients of some of the acne treatments. I’m betting that you’ll see some sulfur on there. That’s why they all smell a little off.

Monitor the amount of milk you are drinking. There is no conclusive evidence that milk causes acne, but there is some evidence and there is some good logic behind it. Those who believe that milk causes acne claim that the hormones within the milk are the culprits. Cows are often injected with extra hormones so that they will produce milk, and plenty of it. It’s probably a bad idea to completely take milk out of your diet. You need the calcium; however, it might not be a bad idea to see if your drinking a lot of milk or if you could find some additional calcium sources to supplement your milk drinking.
