Homemade Pineapple Cough Syrup

Respiratory discomfort and cold often progress to cough and sore throat. If you have mild cough, refrain from consuming any cough syrups that you get in the medical stores and instead try the below cough syrup recipe. You might have already tried honey lemon cough syrups; do try this another delicious syrup to soothe cough-


Pineapples contains a mixture of enzymes, known as bromelain, which has potent anti-inflammatory benefits. Research has shown that pineapple can be effectively treat lung inflammation that can be caused by excessive coughing, suppressing the urge to cough more.

Things you need-

  •     1 cup pineapple juice
  •     Juice of 1 lemon
  •     Pinch sea salt
  •     Pinch cayenne pepper


In a bowl or jar, add fresh pineapple juice.Add in lemon juice, sea salt and cayenne pepper.Stir and transfer the syrup to a bottle or air-tight container.Gulp down 2-3 tablespoons of this cough syrup twice a day to soothe and treat mild cough.
